Daily Mode & My Records

Daily mode gives everyone the same block sequence for 'today.' How is that possible without a server or an account? This guide covers the seed mechanism, the day-rollover time, where records live and when they disappear.

How the Same Board Is Generated

The block sequence looks random but is actually computed from a single number called a seed. The same seed always produces the same sequence, anywhere, any time. Daily mode exploits this property by using today's date itself as the seed. For August 14, 2026, the number 20260814 is scrambled in a fixed way to produce the seed, and the seed generates the piece order.

So no server needs to distribute "today's board." Every player's browser looks at today's date, runs the same math, and gets the same sequence. Whether there are a hundred players or one, whether the internet drops for a moment, the board is identical. This is how a game with no server and no score submission can still feel like a shared competition.

The sequence itself uses a bag-of-seven system: all seven piece types are shuffled into one bag and dealt in order. So daily boards are never luckier or unluckier than normal — within any seven consecutive pieces, the I-piece always appears exactly once. Unlimited mode, by contrast, picks a fresh seed each time you start a game, producing a different sequence every time.

When the Day Rolls Over

"Today" is defined as midnight Korea Standard Time (KST), regardless of your device's time zone. Whether you connect from overseas or change your clock, the board follows the Korean date. You cannot preview tomorrow's board by switching time zones.

This rule applies to records as well. The "today's best" and the 30-day chart both draw the day boundary at KST midnight. If you start a game at 11:50 PM and finish after midnight, the record is attached to the date when the game ended, not when it started. Keep this in mind when chasing a high score near midnight.

Where Records Are Stored

This game has no accounts and never sends scores to a server. Your best score, best quads, today's daily best, and the 30-day summary are all stored in this browser only. That means no sign-up and no personal data in transit, but it comes with a few trade-offs.

First, clearing browser data deletes your records. Clearing site data, closing an incognito window, or reinstalling the browser all count. There is no server-side backup, so recovery is impossible. Second, records do not sync across devices. A high score set on your phone is invisible on your computer. Third, different browsers on the same device keep separate records.

In-progress games are stored in the same place. So if you navigate away mid-game and come back, you will see a "Continue?" banner. Tapping Continue resumes from the exact board state. Choosing a new game discards the saved state, so when in doubt, try Continue first.

Reading the 30-Day Chart and Pattern Cards

The chart below your records plots your daily best score over the last 30 days. Days you did not play are skipped rather than shown as zero, because connecting zeros would make the trend look far more erratic than it really is. Hover over a dot to see the date and score.

When a game ends, the final board becomes a one-of-a-kind image called a pattern card. No two games produce the same layout, so every card is unique. Cards are downloaded directly to your device and are not stored anywhere. In Daily mode, since everyone plays the same sequence, placing two cards from the same day side by side instantly shows where two players diverged.

The best way to use Daily mode is to replay the same board two or three times. Remember where you topped out on the first attempt, then place that piece differently on the second. Because the sequence is identical, the effect of a single decision change is laid bare. This kind of comparison is impossible in Unlimited mode, where every game has a different sequence — and that is the real purpose of Daily.

Daily & Records FAQ

Q. How many times can I play the daily?

There is no limit. The block sequence stays the same all day, so you can retry the exact spot where you topped out. Only your best score of the day is recorded.

Q. When does the day roll over?

At midnight Korea Standard Time (KST). Even if your device is set to New York or London time, 'today' in this game always follows the Korean date, so everyone worldwide shares the same board on the same day.

Q. Can I play the daily offline?

Yes, if the page is already loaded. The board is calculated from the date without asking a server. There is no score submission either, so finishing a game requires no network connection at all.

Q. Can I compare scores with others?

There is no leaderboard. However, when a game ends you can create a pattern card from the final board. Since daily players all share the same block sequence, swapping cards lets you compare results directly.

Q. My records disappeared. Can I recover them?

Unfortunately, no. Records exist only in this browser and are deleted if you clear site data or close an incognito window. There is no server-side copy, so there is no recovery path.

Q. Do records sync between my phone and computer?

No. There are no accounts and records are stored only in each browser, so best scores on two devices remain as separate values.
